Alter Rebbe (Baal HaTanya)

The Alter Rebbe, Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi zy”a, the Baal HaTanya: founder of Chabad chassidus and author of the Tanya and the Shulchan Aruch HaRav. He was imprisoned in Czarist Russia and freed on Yud-Tes Kislev, still kept as the Rosh Hashanah of Chassidus.
